Life can be all go-go-go; busy, overwhelming, full to the rafters of responsibilities. All of the doing and showing-up can leave us little time to tune-into ourselves; to reflect on who we are, what we truly want, and what mightn’t be working for us. Making space to get to know ourselves can be a powerful tool for self-care, fulfilment, growth and joy. Journalling is such a simple and effective way to explore and process our thoughts and emotions. Often acting as a recalibration.

Here are some journal prompts to help you hone that self-awareness of yours and tune back into yourself:

  1. What makes me feel happy and fulfilled?
  2. What are some small moments in my day that bring me joy?
  3. What are some things I’m looking forward to in the future?
  4. What is something I did recently that made me feel proud of myself?
  5. What are some things I would do if I weren’t afraid of failure?
  6. What are some things I can do to take care of myself today?
  7. What are some memories that make me smile?
  8. What are some things I want to learn or explore in the near future?
  9. What are some things that make me feel calm and relaxed?
  10. What are some things I’m grateful for right now?

Create a setting where you feel relaxed, won’t be distracted, and have ample time to write your responses. As you write, try not to overthink your responses, let your intuition and thoughts flow. Honesty, self-compassion and openness are the vibes we’re after.

Journalling can be cathartic and insightful. Using journal prompts like these can help us identify patterns in our thoughts and behaviours, and allow us to see ourselves more clearly and kindly – when we can understand ourselves better, we can be more gentle and understanding with ourselves.

🥰 Sharing is caring: please share this post with anyone it might help.

Do Ideas Come To You In The Shower? Here’s Why

This 'ideas in the shower' phenomenon is so well-known and experienced that you can even buy waterproof shower notepads! How To Choose Your ‘Word Of The Year’

Last week I shared what my word of 2023 was and how staying committed to it changed a great deal in my life. It was the first time I'd ever made a beginning-of-the-year intention and stuck with it. I could fill reams of paper with the New Year's Resolutions I wrote over the years (since I was a teeneager!) and promptly forgot or put down.

I watched ‘Can I Tell You A Secret?’ and Then Deleted Instagram For Good

When it comes to adopting social media, I was one of the relatively late ones to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I'd seen the rise of MySpace and it just hadn't interested me. It was a friend I'd not seen for a while who encouraged me to get going with Facebook. He thought I'd love catching up with people there. And, I did enjoy it. Oftentimes, a bit too much. When I go in, I tend to go all in. Before I knew it, I had hundreds of friends, thousands on Twitter and Instagram.

THE Fatigue-Fighting Blueberry Smoothie

I'm so happy with this recipe because I ended up with a delicious, creamy, satisfying, well-balanced, energy-boosting concoction. The combination of antioxidants, natural sugars, healthy fats, fibre, and essential nutrients from these ingredients seems to have helped me to combat both physical and mental fatigue. Because I'm at 'that age' where fatigue is a thing with all of the hormonal changes, I wanted to share this recipe with anyone who may find themselves in the same boat.
